We stayed five nights with our three children in the Family Villa – it was fantastic! The beautifully maintained, idyllic resort is situated on a secluded stretch of beach, perfect for relaxing after our Sri Lanka tour. The spacious villa, the pool with its sea view, the food, the staff, the dogs – everything was wonderful. We would definitely come back.

Outstanding experience! We've spend a lot of time here, actually it was third time for. I really enjoy this place and it is a pleasure to come back. Resort itself is very calming and charming. All rooms are designed in every detail, pool and restaurant are always very clean, beach is so amazing, just few steps from your room. Staff is unbeliavable. Everyone is very nice and thoughtful, since the moment you arrive. Housekeeper asks every day if you like to get your room cleaned, restaurant staff are very nice and professional and managers are so lovely and always ready to help- thank you Diana and Simona and your team!! Kitchen is ohhh so delicious!! Dont miss their Sri Lankan ricr and curry. Place is very quiet, nobody and nothing around you, perfect for relaxing. But still a lot of activites around here- just take scooter or tuktuk. Absolutely recommended for families, couples, friends group. They are ready for all.

We travel a lot as a family and have never experienced such a lack of hospitality in a hotel. From the moment we arrived, while we were carrying our luggage and our children were also carrying their bags, the host didn't even offer the slightest help. The same scenario played out upon our departure: no one came out to help us with our luggage, escort us, or even simply say goodbye. At this point, it's no longer a question of the host's style of service or personality; it's a basic lack of courtesy towards guests. Several inappropriate attitudes and remarks during our stay only confirmed this impression. This also echoed a previous review that already mentioned similar issues; we clearly should have paid more attention before booking. The overall atmosphere was also very peculiar. We regularly saw the European owners socializing with some European guests, while the Sri Lankan staff worked around them and provided service. The restaurant prices are displayed in euros rather than Sri Lankan rupees. This practice, in a Sri Lankan establishment, deeply disturbed us. As for the services, they fall far short of justifying the prices: power outages, mediocre equipment and facilities, and an expensive restaurant for what it offers. The tropical setting and oceanfront pool are pleasant, but they don't make up for the rest. After three weeks traveling around Sri Lanka and numerous family trips around the world, Sleeping Elephant remains by far our worst hospitality experience.

We spent four nights here and enjoyed our stay very much 🙂 The room was really nice, comfortable and spacious so we felt right at home. The owners were always at our deposal and we felt very much cared for during our stay. They even came to us during breakfast, asking how we were and if we needed any recommendations. Moreover, they did our laundry within half a day and arranged a massage appointment nearby when their masseuse wasn’t available. The location is a bit off the beaten track so I would recommend renting a scooter if you want to explore the surroundings because near the hotel there isn’t much to do. If we should ever travel to the Tangalle region again, we would definitely stay there again 🤩

Thank you for wonderful meal buffet made for my group of 20 women. Service, food, drinks - all was excellent and I am thankful for the manager support Simona and chef Ravi. We come again! I recommend to all the travellers to visit this beautiful resort.

Excellent food that you can enjoy on the terrace in the beautiful garden and you can jump to the magical beach on the Indian Ocean coast. The organization of the restaurant shows Czech influence, you won't wait long for your dinner. :) I didn't use the accommodation, I can't judge.
